Toys for Tots Toy Drive Party
Saturday, December 14, 2019 | 9 pm until 3:30 am
6315 Amherst Ave, Springfield, VA 22150 | 703-866-4160
PaperMoon Springfield is offering a very tempting Christmas treat to good Samaritans.
Since 1947, the goal of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots initiative has been to bring the joy of Christmas to less fortunate children. To help Toys for Tots fulfill its annual mission, philanthropic dancers from PaperMoon Springfield are hosting their annual holiday toy donation drive.
New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off Sunday through Friday from 12 pm to 2:30 am, or Friday and Saturday from 12 pm to 3:30 am at the gentlemen’s club, at 6315 Amherst Ave, Springfield, VA 22150. The drive goes through December 14th, wrapping up with a black-tie party.
“We are honored to do our part for Toys for Tots. We want to show children in need they are not forgotten at Christmas, or at any time. Without the generosity of the community, many children miss out on the magic of the holiday season. Picking up one extra toy during your holiday shopping can make a child’s holiday sparkle. Last year we raised a substantial amount of money and toys and this year we aim to double that number,” said RoseMarie LaPeter, General Manager, PaperMoon Springfield.
As an added bonus, now through December 14th, when you donate a new, unwrapped toy or make a donation of $20, you’ll be entered to win a $500 cash prize at the event. The more times you donate, the greater your odds. Other highlights of the event on December 14th include:
- Discount admission with donations
- Bottle service specials
- Special auction on gift baskets provided by Red Bull and 9Round Springfield along with dances (proceeds go to Toys for Tots)
Toys for Tots, which collects new, unwrapped toys each holiday season and gives them as Christmas gifts to children in need, is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. It distributes toys to children who may not otherwise receive a gift for Christmas. Toys for Tots plays an active role in developing one of our nation’s most valuable resources: its children. It also unites members of local communities in a common cause each year during its annual toy collection and distribution campaign.
Since Toys for Tots’ inception, the Marines have distributed over 566 million toys to more than 258 million children across the United States. In 2018, the local Toys for Tots campaign in Quantico, VA distributed 106,947 toys to 89,755 children.
Outreach Efforts Extend Beyond Holidays
Toys for Tots joins other charities in PaperMoon’s latest community outreach efforts. In November 2019, PaperMoon held a food drive for New Hope Housing, which provides services to homeless families and single adults. The classy venue provides top-tier entertainment for a variety of residents in Northern Virginia as well as the District of Columbia. PaperMoon’s representatives pride themselves on creating luxurious, bespoke experiences while being responsible, upstanding members of the community they serve. The party on Saturday, December 14 promises to be a night of fun, warmth and holiday cheer.
